The Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) application requires the applicant to hold an investment of at least £200,000 in most cases though in some instances, £50,000 could be considered.
The applicant will need to demonstrate that they genuinely intend to set up a functional business in the UK and as part of the application process, the entrepreneur will need to show the immigration authorities that they have sufficient evidence of funds, maintenance and proficiency in English language.
Normally, Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) needs to spend at least five years in the UK before qualifying for Indefinite Leave to Remain. However, similar to the Tier 1 (Investor) route, it is possible to “fast-track” the time towards Indefinite Leave to Remain to three years. The criteria for the fast-track route is as follows:
